Looking at what picture we could use for the DVD Cover
we chose this picture because it shows the posher life of living in a city. it shows a wider pictures however, keeps the really city hidden. with the light which is being produced there is a sense of richness be the light could be car, shops and street lamps. these are all things we may associate with the city life.
I liked these photos because they show to rural side to to living in the big city. however they only show one aspect of it.
We chose this rural picture because it shows a wider picture of living in this type of area. it makes you think to the differences to what you think and that is to what is really there. It also shows a lot of house in one small area, so it makes you feel like you are stuck there and cannot get out even though you know what is out there.First Draft of DVD Cover
We have look through a number of pictures to decide what we want are cover to look like. One of the pictures we found was a picture of a city, however we did not think it would attract are audience so we had a look at a number of artists and their album covers.
Using Eminem’s album covers as an example, he uses very easy and basic photos. His currant album “recovery” is a very good example because the album cover is him walking down a road which could show use a conation of the road to recovery.
With Eminem’s singles he uses the same frame of mind making the art work basic but also tells use more about him as a person. For example, the single cover “Not Afraid” shows contradiction to what he is doing so what is being said to me is that he is afraid of being like everyone else. However Eminem’s single art work for “cleaning out my closet”
Another artist we have been looking at is Jay Z who is a very will know artist. Jay Z has a different type of album cover to Eminem because one think he does with his art work is make it black and white or just use two different colours. As Jay Z has used black and white on 8 of his 12 albums. Other artists which have followed Jay Z are Rihanna and R Kelly.
Putting both Eminem and Jay Z we came up with looking like Jay Z but having aspects of Eminem. We have used the picture which is linked to the song, which is about going out in town, but made the picture black and white we have also carried on the theme when thinking about writing.
This is our first draft of are digipak. I am pleased with the outcome of the picture and so happy with the "HB" Logo but not too keen on the writing " Never let the party stop" and "the Single" as I feel the words are lost within the image. All in all I am very pleased with the outcome of are first draft and we are in talking about the writing.
